Stories centered in empathy, equity, and whimsy.
Who
we are
Hello, we’re Michelle and Tara Cheston, the authors behind Cheston Tales.
We’ve been together for more than 15 years, and in that time we’ve shared many adventures, big and small. Writing children’s books is our latest endeavor and a deeply meaningful extension of the values we care about most. Through our stories, we explore themes of growth, identity, belonging, and courage.
By day, Michelle is a writer and editor for a federal government agency, and Tara is a program manager for a large urban school district. Our professional lives keep us grounded in clear communication, community, and care: principles that also guide our storytelling.
We live in Falls Church, Virginia, with our two adorable cats and one ancient, toothless chihuahua.
